Walking routes

Our municipality has ‘Kwik’ exercise trails for older people. Apeldoorn is committed to promoting the health of its residents. Exercise is an important part of this. The ‘Kwik’ trails allow older people to exercise outdoors every day.

What is a ‘kwiekroute’?

The ‘Kwiekroute’ is an outdoor walking trail. Participants follow a route marked by arrows on the paving slabs. Each route is approximately two kilometres long. There are signs along the route. These describe an exercise that can be performed at that spot. For the exercises, participants make use of whatever is available in the public space, such as benches, low walls, fences and posts. Use of the route is open to all residents and free of charge.

Where can you find the walking routes?

  • Woudhuis: the starting sign is located at Talma Borgh on Fortlaan; the route is approximately 1.2 kilometres long.
  • Orden: the route starts at the Orca Community Centre and passes, amongst other places, the Cruijff Court Plus.
  • Uddel: the route starts at the Wilhelminahof in Uddel
  • Apeldoorn North: the route starts at the De Groene Hoven meeting point
  • Hoenderloo: the route will be constructed in the spring of 2026 and will start at the Dorpshuus

More ‘Kwik’ exercise trails are being created in the municipality.
