Registration for the ‘Boompje Erbij’ campaign is now open

Residents of Apeldoorn can register for the ‘Boompje Erbij’ scheme from 14 to 30 October. Those who register will be able to collect a tree at a date and location of their choice in late November.

Due to the popularity of the scheme, the council is using a booking system this year. When booking, you choose a location and a date to collect the tree. Small trees are also available that you can take away by bike.

The following applies to this offer: a maximum of one tree per address, and once they’re gone, they’re gone. A service charge of €5 applies when you register.

Trees for a greener living environment

Through the ‘Boompje Erbij’ scheme, the council aims to help residents make their local area greener. Trees are important for nature and the climate. They provide a habitat for birds and other animals and help to keep the local area cool. Trees can also absorb rainwater, thereby helping to combat heat and flooding.

By planting a tree in their own garden, residents can help make Apeldoorn a greener and more future-proof city.*

Free advice on creating a greener garden

Would you like to do more to make your garden greener? The Garden Rangers offer free advice to local residents. A Garden Ranger will visit your home and give you tips tailored to your garden. For example, on collecting rainwater, replacing paving slabs with plants, and choosing plants that are native to the Netherlands.

More than 100 residents have now taken advantage of the free gardening advice. You can register via the Garden Rangers’ website.
