Levi is the new children’s mayor of Apeldoorn

On Thursday 10 September, Mayor Ton Heerts officially installed Levi as children’s mayor. Levi is Apeldoorn’s eighth children’s mayor. His predecessor, Madalie, was also present and handed the chain of office over to Levi.

Levi is in Year 7 at De Zonnewende primary school, Ravelijn campus. He is 10 years old. Levi proudly received the chain of office.

Before the handover of the chain of office, Madalie took the floor briefly. She thanked Apeldoorn for the enjoyable time she’d had there and wished her successor every success and much enjoyment.

Levi, the Children’s Mayor:
“Children with disabilities should also be able to take part in everything.”

First speech

Levi is really looking forward to his role as children’s mayor and said during his first speech: I really enjoy playing sport and playing outdoors myself. And I think it’s important that every child is able to do that. It doesn’t matter how much money your parents have. And children with disabilities should also be able to take part in everything.
