National Youth Care Monument ‘De Erkenning’ in Apeldoorn
The National Youth Care Monument ‘De Erkenning’ was unveiled in Apeldoorn on Friday. Following the report by the De Winter Commission, the monument provides a place for reflection and recognition, a subject of national importance. It is a permanent place for (former) young people, families and loved ones who have experienced violence in youth care. The municipality of Apeldoorn made the site in Zuiderpark available, and Mayor Ton Heerts attended the ceremony. Together with Councillor Jarin van der Zande, he cut the ribbon around the monument.
