Province sets aside €30 million for the Hertzberger and Amalia districts

The Apeldoorn Municipal Executive is delighted that the Gelderland Provincial Executive has set aside €30 million for the development of the Amaliakwartier and the Hertzberger, a listed building.

The booking has been entered in the the province’s draft budget.

“This provincial contribution provides a significant boost to the development of the Spoorzone and the area around Apeldoorn Central Station,” the council said. “The province’s support underlines the importance of this development for both Apeldoorn and the Stedendriehoek region.”

The provincial grant will enable further work to be carried out on the development of the security cluster and the Hertzberger listed building, as well as on improving accessibility and quality of life in the Amaliakwartier.

The Spoorzone will become an area where living, working, learning, innovation and safety come together. With a campus dedicated to education and the development of the safety cluster, opportunities will arise for new jobs, education and innovation. According to the municipal executive, this will strengthen Apeldoorn’s position as a City of Safety and make a significant contribution to the development of the Stedendriehoek region.
