You can apply for or cancel an extension to opening hours online (by logging in with eHerkenning).

The local authority will process your application within 4 weeks.

The costs for this licence are as follows:

  • €233.60 (one-off payment) for Sunday to Thursday nights up to 04.00
  • €175.21, payable once for the night from Friday to Saturday and from Saturday to Sunday.
  • €175.21, payable once for a one-off extension.

The municipality of Apeldoorn generally observes the following opening hours:

  • Sunday to Thursday from 6.00 am to 1.00 am
  • Fridays and Saturdays from 6.00 am to 2.00 am

If you have a licence to remain open until 4.00 am, you must have a doorman on Friday and Saturday nights. This also applies to eating establishments that serve alcoholic drinks after standard closing time. Without a doorman, you will not be granted a licence to stay open later.

For catering establishments, such as a shawarma shop, the rules are as follows:

  • If you have a licence to stay open until 4.00 am, you are still permitted to admit visitors after 3.00 am
  • On Fridays and Saturdays, after 2.00 am, you may only serve non-alcoholic drinks
  • If you do wish to continue serving alcoholic drinks, you must not admit any more visitors to your premises from 03.00 onwards.

As a general rule, we do not grant licences to hospitality businesses located outside Apeldoorn’s nightlife and CCTV coverage areas.
