Take a look overview of shop opening hours in the municipality of Apeldoorn. Shops in Apeldoorn may set their own opening hours within these times. If you wish to deviate from these times, you will need an exemption.
You can apply for two types of exemption from the Shop Opening Hours Act. These allow you to keep your shop open outside normal opening hours.
- An exemption for night shops (between 22:00 and 06:00)
- An exemption for special occasions of a temporary nature. Examples include the launch of a new book or game at midnight.
Apeldoorn City Council will assess your request on the basis of the following criteria:
- Disruption to the residential and living environment in the surrounding area
- Disturbance of public order.
You can apply for an exemption online. We will process your application within 8 weeks. You will receive a letter setting out our decision.
The costs for this application are as follows:
- €174.04 for a one-off licence to open a late-night shop.
- €870.15 for a one-year exemption to open a late-night shop.
