Different conditions apply to each pedestrian zone:
Beekpark area
In the Beekpark area, motorised traffic is prohibited from 10.00 pm to 5.00 am on Thursdays to Sundays. If you still wish to drive through the Beekpark area during these times, you will need a permit.
You are eligible for an exemption if:
- Transport service for essential journeys.
- A business or resident with one or more private parking spaces, which are accessible exclusively via the Beekpark area; one exemption per parking space.
- Freight traffic: exemption for loading and unloading for the fish and fish products, pharmaceuticals and meal-provision companies with a delivery service sectors.
- Ad hoc exemption: parties may be eligible for temporary exemptions, for example to carry out work.
Centre
Motorised traffic is only permitted in the pedestrian zone from Monday to Saturday between 6.00 and 11.00. A permit is required to drive in the pedestrian zone outside these times.
You are eligible for an exemption if:
- Taxi transport
- Regiotaxi Gelderland and other taxi services for picking up and dropping off residents in the pedestrian zone
- Passengers travelling to or from Marktplein.
- Services
- Utility companies, refuse collection services, and local authority maintenance services carrying out essential work
- Cash collection services, cash-in-transit services and similar services for essential journeys from Monday to Sunday
- Emergency services, GPs, midwives and similar professionals for essential journeys
- Businesses and residents
- Businesses and residents with one or more parking spaces that are accessible only via the pedestrian zone; one exemption per parking space
- Businesses and residents with one or more parking spaces that are not accessible exclusively via the pedestrian zone, from Monday to Sunday between 6.00 pm and 11.00 am the following day (on Thursdays from 9.00 pm)
- Businesses and residents without parking spaces: Monday to Sunday from 6.00 pm to 11.00 am the following day (on Thursdays from 9.00 pm)
- Freight traffic
- You are exempt from the restrictions on loading and unloading for the following sectors: fish and fish products, medicines, and meal delivery companies, from Monday to Sunday between 6.00 pm and 9.00 pm, except on Thursdays
Temporary exemption
Parties may be eligible for temporary exemptions, such as a future resident, for carrying out works, in connection with a care need or a wedding. Holders of a disabled parking permit are automatically exempt from restrictions on driving and parking vehicles in the pedestrian zone from Monday to Friday between 7.00 and 11.00.
Exemption for Berg en Bos City Park
Berg & Bos City Park is a public pedestrian area. If you wish to enter this area by car, for example to take wedding photographs, you will need permission. You can apply for permission online here.

If the local authority approves your application, the exemption will take effect immediately.
An exemption to drive in the Centrum/Beekpark pedestrian zone is automatically renewed each year.

For an initial application for a permanent exemption, you will pay a one-off administrative fee of €151.80. The other costs are set out in the table below.
