The council’s specialist team checks whether the application meets the criteria set out in the scheme and prepares the decision. The Mayor and Aldermen decide whether to approve the application. The council’s grants office sends out the grant award decision. The municipality’s Grants Office pays out the agreed advance (in instalments).
The Bibob Act
Your application will be assessed in accordance with the Bibob Act if there are indications that there is a serious risk that the grant decision will be used (in part) to commit criminal offences. To undergo the assessment under the Bibob Act, you must complete a separate application form. You will receive this form from the local authority, and it can also be found on the BIBO page.
Implementation and reporting
- The applicant carries out the first part of the agreed work and submits the interim report online (as far as possible).
- The applicant will carry out the remainder of the agreed work and submit the report online (as far as possible).
Determination and payment
Your grant must be approved. Once it has been approved, the grant can be paid out or offset.
- The applicant must (as far as possible) submit an application for a declaration online. The grant scheme usually has pre-determined dates.
- The applicant may, if necessary, submit a request for an extension.
- The council will decide on the allocation of the grant.
- The grants office will send out the grant award decision or the notice of intention to reduce the grant.
- The council’s Finance Department will pay out the agreed outstanding amount (in instalments) or demand repayment of part of the advance.
For smaller grant amounts, the award may also serve as the final decision. In such cases, the applicant does not need to submit a separate grant application and request a final decision. This is specified for each type of grant. It often depends on the amount applied for.
