Would you like to help out during the elections? You can! We’re looking for enthusiastic people who’d like to serve as polling station officials. Once you’ve registered, you’ll be considered for the role of polling station official.
There are various roles: chairperson, deputy chairperson and polling station official. You can indicate which role you would prefer. We will allocate the roles based on experience and availability.
As (deputy) chairperson, you are responsible for everything at the polling station. You lead the other members and ensure that everything runs smoothly. You oversee the voting process and maintain peace and order in the polling station. After 9.00 pm, you count the ballot papers and complete the official report. You work together with the other members and ensure tasks are divided fairly. You take turns with the other chairperson to ensure there are sufficient breaks. You have organisational and leadership skills and are meticulous, service-minded and assertive.
As a polling station official, you have various duties:
You work in shifts so that you get enough rest. Everyone helps with counting the votes.
If you help out at a polling station, you will receive a payment. The amount you receive depends on your role:
In addition, you will receive €35 to cover your expenses. You can use this for food, drink and travel costs.
You must notify the tax authorities yourself of the amount of compensation you have received.
