You should enrol your child in writing, preferably 10 weeks in advance, at your preferred school in your new place of residence. If there is a delay in your child’s placement at a school, please contact the local authority’s truancy officer.

Young people aged between 18 and 23 who do not have a basic qualification can seek guidance from the Doorstroompunt. Here, young people receive support as they take steps towards further education or employment. A member of staff at the Doorstroompunt then works with the young person to identify where opportunities lie. The Doorstroompunt advises young people on their choices and next steps, working in collaboration with other organisations where necessary.
Who is it for?
The Doorstroompunt is for young people aged between 18 and 23 who do not have a basic qualification. A basic qualification is a HAVO/VWO certificate or, at the very least, MBO level 2.

Leave outside school holidays
If your job prevents you from taking a 10-day family holiday during the school holidays, you may apply for leave outside the school holidays. You must demonstrate that a holiday during the school holidays would cause insurmountable financial difficulties for you or your employer. This must not be due to organisational reasons. Special school holidays
In certain situations, you may apply for special leave from school. This applies to significant events, such as a wedding or a death. These are usually events beyond your or your child’s control, such as force majeure or a legal obligation.
