Damage to a lamppost can also be dangerous. In that case, you can report the situation immediately by calling 14 055. We will resolve urgent issues as quickly as possible.
In the following cases, you can make an emergency report:
- The lamppost has been hit by a vehicle or damaged
- The lampshade is hanging loose
- The mast hatch is missing or is open
- The lamppost is in poor condition
If a lamppost has been damaged or hit by a vehicle, it may take some time for the damage to be repaired. Cable faults, where several lampposts are not lit, are also repaired within a few weeks. This work is carried out by the network operator Liander.
Faults above ground involving a single faulty lamppost are usually resolved within 7 working days. Unfortunately, due to staff shortages, this may currently take longer.
Underground cable faults causing several streetlights to go out will be repaired within a few weeks. This work is carried out by the network operator Liander. In some cases, it may take longer to resolve a fault. This could be due, for example, to frozen ground, work being carried out by other parties, or a complex cable break.
Is there a fault sticker from the contractor Spie on the lamppost? If so, the fault has already been reported.
If you think a new lamppost is needed in a particular spot, or that a lamppost should be moved, in which case you can report this. We will then assess whether your application is feasible.
Have you caused damage to public lighting, such as a lamppost or other parts of the street lighting, with a motor vehicle? If so, the matter will be dealt with on behalf of the local authority by NODR. They take the pressure off the local authority during this process. You may therefore receive a message from NODR after you have reported the incident. This applies whether you have reported the damage to the local authority, the police or another organisation.
If it is not known who caused the damage, NODR will carry out a neighbourhood enquiry. In that case, you may receive letters or other correspondence from NODR. NODR is acting on behalf of the local authority. If you receive a message from this organisation regarding damage to street lighting, this forms part of our standard procedure for handling such claims.
