Home insulation subsidy

Insulating your home is always a good idea. It saves you money and energy. Insulation ensures a warm and comfortable home in winter, and a cool home in summer. You can use the home insulation grant to insulate your floor, loft and walls, or to replace your windows and window frames.

Please note:

There are a number of conditions attached to this grant. Check whether you are eligible and for what amount using the grant check.

If you meet the eligibility criteria, you may be eligible for a grant of up to €1,000, €1,500 or €6,000 to help insulate your home. The amount you receive depends on your income.

Conditions

  • This grant is only available to homeowners who live in their own homes.
  • Your WOZ value may not exceed €625,000 if your property is situated within a built-up area. Do you live outside a built-up area? In that case, there is no maximum WOZ value. Please note: this applies to the reference date of 1 January 2022.
  • Your home has an energy rating of B, C, D, E, F or G. Does your home have a rating of B or C?
In that case, your home must have two or more poorly insulated or uninsulated parts to be eligible for the grant. If your home does not have an energy performance certificate, it must have two or more poorly insulated or uninsulated parts.
  • Properties built after 1995 are not eligible for a grant. Even if a property complies with the 1992 Building Regulations, it is still not eligible. This is because the property is so well insulated that it does not qualify as a poorly insulated property.
  • The grant is awarded once per property. Has a municipal grant for home insulation already been awarded for that property? If so, the property is not eligible again.
  • Are you an owner-occupier in a Homeowners’ Association (VVE)? If so, you are not eligible for a grant for measures that you have carried out yourself.

Please note: If you are planning to insulate a building, this may have adverse consequences for (protected) animal species. Disturbing or harming animals and their nests is prohibited under the Environment Act. This Act therefore also protects animal species that live in buildings. For some types of work on buildings, an ecological survey must therefore be carried out and a permit applied for. To assist you, Apeldoorn Council has drawn up a Species Management Plan (SMP). You are welcome to make use of this. Read more here about insulation and protected species.
