If you receive support or an aid under the Social Support Act (Wmo), you will almost always have to pay a Wmo personal contribution. It does not matter whether you receive this support or aid in kind, or in the form of a personal budget.
Personal contribution under the Wmo
The local authority notifies the CAK that you are receiving Wmo support. The CAK calculates your personal contribution and sends you an invoice. You pay the personal contribution to the CAK, not to the local authority or the care provider. - You live in a shared household (multi-person household) with someone other than a first-degree relative (parent/child), and someone in your household has not yet reached state pension age.
- Your household’s total income does not exceed 120% of the social assistance rate applicable to you.
- You or your partner are already paying a personal contribution for ‘care in a care home’.
- Children under the age of 18 do not pay a subscription fee, except in the case of home adaptations.
Different rules apply to the personal contribution for accommodation. The CAK calculates your personal contribution in the same way as it does for people living in a care home (under the Long-Term Care Act). You can read more about this on the CAK website.

You cannot object to having to pay a subscription fee. This is laid down in the Wmo regulations of the municipality of Apeldoorn.
