Here’s what you’ll be doing
As a member of staff at the Council Secretariat, you and your colleagues will play a key role in supporting the Municipal Council. You will be involved in a range of organisational, administrative and communication tasks. These range from preparing meetings and public engagement activities to keeping the council information system up to date and managing communications. In your role:

  • Together with your colleagues, as part of a team, you will be responsible for ensuring that the local council’s meetings and participatory activities are prepared in good time;
  • you will support your colleagues in the registry with their work;
  • ensure that the council information system is and remains up to date;
  • you will help to process incoming letters and emails addressed to the local council;
  • You will ensure that the local council’s corporate identity is upheld and assist in the production of various communications materials.

What to bring
This is a support role in which hospitality, a helpful attitude and creativity are key. You will be expected to be flexible. Furthermore, this is a role in which tasks often need to be carried out under time pressure. Thursdays are fixed meeting days, and on those days you will be our rock until early evening. You are happy to go the extra mile for the job outside regular working hours, if necessary. You have experience working in a support role, preferably within a local authority organisation. You also have:

  • An MBO qualification and/or demonstrable work experience at MBO level
  • You are proficient in using Microsoft Office and are able to quickly familiarise yourself with new systems, such as iBabs or Parlaeus, to the extent that you can provide us with full support in this regard.

Here’s what we offer you

  • A job for 24 hours a week. Initially for one year, with the prospect of a permanent contract subject to satisfactory performance.
  • A gross monthly salary of between €2,875 and a maximum of €4,056 (scale 7) based on a 36-hour week,
  • An Individual Choice Budget (IKB) of 17,45% on top of your salary. You can use this, for example, for:
    • Extra income by having it paid out
    • Buying extra holiday hours.
  • The option to save up leave and flexible working hours;

  • 201.6 holiday hours based on a 36-hour week;

Working for Apeldoorn Town Council
This involves working in an ambitious council secretariat serving 39 councillors and over 169,000 residents. The council secretariat is a close-knit team of 14 open-minded and committed colleagues. The council secretariat is headed by the clerk and reports directly to the municipal council. The department operates independently of the municipal organisation, but works closely with it.
