DigiD, your digital identity
In the Netherlands, you need a DigiD. This allows you to identify yourself online and log in to government websites, such as those of the local council, the Social Insurance Bank and the tax authorities. You can also use your DigiD for hospitals, pharmacies or health insurance. Information on applying for and activating your DigiD.
Child benefit
For anyone with children, as a contribution towards the cost of a child’s upkeep.
Child-based budget
An additional allowance for people, depending on their level of income.
Childcare allowance
If you are in work and use registered childcare, you are entitled to a childcare allowance to help cover some of the costs.
Your partner
If you are married or have a partner (the tax authorities refer to this as a ‘benefit partner’), you must state this when you apply to avoid receiving too much benefit. You must do this even if your partner lives abroad. If you receive too much benefit, you must always repay the excess.
Living expenses
If you are in work, you will no longer receive child benefit from the municipality of Apeldoorn with effect from 1 November 2022. As you are in work, you are entitled to government allowances and benefits. Please do not forget to apply for these.
Are you getting into trouble?
If the amount you receive in child benefit and the child-related budget is lower than the living allowance you used to receive for your children, you can send an email to leefgeld@apeldoorn.nl. Please include the information from the tax authorities and the SVB. We will check whether you are entitled to a top-up payment.
