Zwaanspreng Apeldoorn

Warheads

The warheads are located in the woods to the north and south of Laan van Westenenk.

The section of the stream leading to and running alongside Arnhemseweg, near the ETV company’s site, had disappeared and was restored in 2018/19. At the Dubbelbeek, the stream flows above ground alongside the Kayersbeek towards the Apeldoorns Canal. Near the Kayersdijk, by the former fish farm, there is a waterfall in the stream. The stream is being restored to flow above ground. A wide green strip runs alongside the stream. Options for storing disconnected rainwater have been explored in the vision statement.

The stream is being developed in phases and currently comprises the following projects:

  • Kayersbeek South/Zwaanspreng South: the feasibility study began in 2022
  • Zwaanspreng near Ugchelen, completed in 2018/2019

What is the outcome of the restoration of the Zwaanspreng near Ugchelen?

As part of the Ugchelen Buiten housing development on the ETV site on Arnhemseweg, the construction of the Zwaanspreng stream area was carried out between 2017 and 2019. A new stream has been dug, connecting to the existing spring head. The stream runs through a green belt that links up with existing green spaces. Residents and visitors can enjoy the stream from the adjacent footpaths and cycle paths.
