Health and Safety Adviser

Do you have a clear understanding of how health and safety policies are implemented? Do you have relevant experience and do you enjoy adapting quickly when giving advice and making a difference at various levels? Are you an enthusiastic go-getter who ensures a safe and healthy working environment? Then we’re looking for you!

What are you going to do?
As a Health and Safety Adviser, you believe that a healthy and pleasant workplace and working environment have an impact on your colleagues’ job satisfaction, and you enjoy working continuously to promote their wellbeing. In this role, you act as the link between risks, policy and implementation. You help our organisation to systematically improve and effectively organise safe and healthy working practices.

You will improve policies, protocols and working methods. The central question in this regard is always: can colleagues work effectively with these in practice? You will translate legislation and regulations into clear agreements, practical solutions and achievable improvement measures. You coordinate and advise, but you also take an active role in addressing issues, implementing improvements and carrying out health and safety activities. You identify developments and bottlenecks, translate these into improvement initiatives and help ensure that health and safety agreements are also applied in day-to-day practice.

Your primary responsibilities include overseeing the various risk inventories and evaluations (RI&E). In some cases, in your role as a health and safety officer, you will be directly responsible for implementing measures. You will ensure that you have sufficient management information to assess your plans and make proposals for improvement. You will work closely with managers, the HR department, the works council and colleagues from Facilities Management.

You are someone who finds it easy to connect with others and who knows how to inspire them and get them on board with our organisation’s vision for a healthy and safe workplace policy. You translate this into tangible results in the form of swift solutions, as well as projects focused on health and safety.

As a consultant, you help to open up discussions. You can switch effortlessly between different levels. You ensure that various health and safety issues are communicated to both management and staff.

You are the face of health and safety in the workplace. In your day-to-day work, which takes place across several of our local authority’s sites, and through your frequent contact with your colleagues, you spot immediate opportunities for improvement. You identify these and take action. In doing so, you carry out analyses and draw up plans, which you implement together with your colleagues, whilst ensuring that the plans are carried out.

You will be working in the Facilities Department. Together with a health and safety officer, you will form the health and safety team. You will coordinate your work, contribute ideas and support one another where necessary. In this way, you will work together to ensure continuity, maintain an overview and provide practical support to the organisation.

Here’s what we offer you
