There are around a hundred amateur organisations active in Apeldoorn. These include music, singing and drama societies, for example. But there are also foundations that ensure everyone can take part in cultural activities. Platform PLAK is the central hub for them all. As a result, Apeldoorn has a vibrant amateur arts sector.
In Apeldoorn, many people are active as amateur artists within foundations, associations, groups or on an individual basis. This is all made possible by numerous enthusiastic volunteers serving on various committees and boards. There are well over a hundred organisations across the city and its villages that people can join for activities including singing, dancing, music, theatre and the visual arts.
The Apeldoorn Amateur Arts Platform is a meeting place for anyone with a passion for amateur arts in Apeldoorn. The platform brings together organisations and individuals who support amateur arts, who run classes and courses, and organisations and individuals who are actively involved in performing the arts.
The Apeldoorn Choral Federation is the umbrella organisation for around fifty member associations and choirs, which together have almost two thousand singers. The Federation works to promote choral singing and is committed to supporting all choirs in Apeldoorn.
