Camping de Marshoeve

Former Marshoeve Campsite

In April 2023, Apeldoorn Council purchased the former De Marshoeve campsite with the aim of redeveloping the site for housing and nature conservation. As part of this process, the residents’ tenancy agreements were terminated at the end of 2023. Some of the residents objected and took the matter to court.

At the end of May 2025, the court ruled that the local authority was entitled to terminate the tenancy agreements. The judge recognised the council’s interest in the redevelopment and found that this outweighed the residents’ interest in remaining. However, personal circumstances were taken into account: some tenants will receive financial compensation and not everyone will have to leave the site at the same time. The last tenant may remain until 1 July 2026 at the latest.

Practical information
