What are we going to do?
We are carrying out maintenance work on two sections of Koninginnelaan:
Between Gazellestraat and Snelliusstraat
Partial replacement of the tarmac
Between Einsteinlaan and Bas Backerlaan
- Replacement of tarmac at various locations;
- Widening and upgrading the red cycle lanes;
- Modifying the bus stop at Pizza Palace so that the bus will stop on the carriageway and the stop will be more accessible.
When are we working?
Koninginnelaan between Gazellestraat and Snelliusstraat
Monday 5 October, 8.00 pm to Tuesday 6 October, 6.00 am
Koninginnelaan between Einsteinlaan and Bas Backerlaan
In the evenings and nights from 8.00 pm on Monday 5 October to 6.00 am on Thursday 8 October. During this period, this section of Koninginnelaan will be closed for three nights between 8.00 pm and 6.00 am.
During the works, the relevant sections of road will be closed to traffic. Diversions will be signposted.
What do we ask of residents and visitors?
The work area must be kept clear of cars. We therefore ask you to park your vehicle elsewhere whilst the work is being carried out.
- Between Gazellestraat and Snelliusstraat, the road must be clear of parked cars from 6.00 pm on Monday 5 October.
- Between Einsteinlaan and Bas Backerlaan, we would ask you to park your car elsewhere every weekday evening no later than half an hour before work begins. During the day, you may use the street and the parking spaces as normal.
Cars left in the work area may be towed away at the owner’s expense.
Why do we only carry out maintenance?
We regularly receive enquiries about the future layout of Koninginnelaan. The work currently taking place is intended solely as necessary maintenance of the tarmac and a few existing facilities. Any redevelopment of Koninginnelaan is a separate project. As soon as we have more information on this, we will inform residents, business owners and other stakeholders.
