Apeldoorn develops

Property developers BEMOG and Nijhuis/OMA Apeldoorn are developing 162 apartments on Kanaalstraat (opposite the pencil), with a focus on sustainability. The development will include homes in the affordable, mid-range and higher-end price segments. The flats will feature green outdoor spaces and a communal courtyard garden.

In July 2024, the developers presented the plans to the local community. If all goes well, a second information evening will be held for those interested before the summer holidays.

The aim is to start construction in the first half of 2026. The housing project will then be completed by the end of 2027.

Kanaalstraat is part of a larger whole

Kanaalstraat is a development we will be working on over the coming years and forms part of the plans set out in the Development Plan for Apeldoorn City Park (pdf, 12.4 MB). With the city park, Apeldoorn is continuing to develop into a unique city with its own distinct character. A city centre that remains easily accessible is part of that. The ‘Apeldoorn City Park’ development plan forms part of the Environmental Vision. The Environmental Vision describes how Apeldoorn is set to develop in the run-up to 2040. Apeldoorn’s city centre forms an important part of this. That is why a separate development plan has been drawn up for this area.
