General guidelines on informing local residents

The neighbourhood’s location profile sets out which area and which organisations are involved. Even if your location is not included in the profile, the obligation to provide information still applies.

  • You must inform local residents and businesses within a 200-metre radius of the event site about the event to be held. You must also inform the relevant neighbourhood councils.
  • You state that you have received permission from the Municipal Executive to hold the event.
  • Please specify the impact the event will have on local residents. Consider factors such as noise, the type of music, traffic, etc. You should also state the set-up and dismantling times and the measures you will take to minimise disruption as much as possible.
  • In the letter, please state the name and telephone number of a contact person who will be available before and during the event to answer any questions or deal with any comments.
