If so, we have some good news. You can now receive financial support to bring your initiative to life. If your idea aligns with one or more of the objectives of the Apeldoorn Sport and Physical Activity Agreement, a grant is waiting for you.

Together with key partners from the Apeldoorn Sport and Physical Activity Pact, sports organisations, educational institutions and community organisations, we have set targets for sport and physical activity within our municipality. These targets fall under six main areas of the Apeldoorn Sport and Physical Activity Pact:

  1. Inclusion and Diversity
  2. Space for Sport and Exercise
  3. Vitale Sports and Exercise Providers
  4. Skilled in Movement
  5. Socially Safe Sport
  6. The Social Value of Elite Sport

Objectives and action points have been drawn up for each key area, and a working group has been set up. Organisations with a good idea for promoting sport and physical activity in Apeldoorn can receive financial support for their initiative through this grant scheme.

A grant may be applied for in respect of an activity and/or project which:

  • takes place within the municipal boundaries by 2027 at the latest;
  • is carried out by one or more legal entities based in Apeldoorn. Or, if the legal entity is not based in Apeldoorn, there must at least be a partnership with one or more Apeldoorn-based sports and exercise providers, or educational, healthcare or welfare organisations. The latter must be evidenced by a letter of intent signed by the parties;
  • within the municipality, this is regarded as a new initiative by the applicant(s) (the applicant has not previously carried out this initiative) in the field of sport and physical activity, or as an adaptation of an existing initiative, or as a continuation of an initiative previously funded under the Sport and Physical Activity Agreement;
  • focuses on one or more themes, as set out in the Apeldoorn Sport and Physical Activity Agreement II; and
  • serves a social purpose.

Applications may be submitted from 14 May 2026 to 31 May 2026. The maximum grant amount is €7,500 per application.

Please note! Applications may also be submitted for initiatives that have previously received funding under this scheme.

You may be eligible for a grant to cover these costs

  • accommodation costs;
  • cost of materials;
  • promotion of expertise;
  • insurance;
  • membership fees and subscriptions.

You cannot claim a grant for these costs

  • costs relating to the hours worked by members or volunteers; 
  • costs for food and drink, entertainment, travel and accommodation, including admission fees;
  • unforeseen expenses.

  • What activity or activities will you be carrying out?
  • Which target group is the project/activity aimed at?
  • Implementation (brief description)
  • When would you like to start your project or activity?
  • How much energy and resources are required to carry out the project? How many people are involved, and what is their (total) time commitment?
  • When will your project or activity be considered a success? What objective(s) do you wish to achieve?
  • How is it assessed, both during and after the project or activity, whether the objective and the results are being achieved?
  • How will the project or activity be continued in the years following the award of the grant?
  • Questions about the budget. Costs and income (contribution from the subsidy scheme and personal contribution).

The following attachment must be included:

  • a de minimis declaration if the applicant carries out an economic activity and is therefore an undertaking within the meaning of State aid law.

We will reach a decision within 12 weeks. Sometimes we need a little more information. If that is the case, we will get in touch with you.

The grant is determined immediately and the grant amount is paid in a single instalment.
