Would you like to park on the street? In Apeldoorn city centre, you have to pay to do so. In some neighbourhoods, too, you have to pay if you park on the street. The days and times when you have to pay, and the maximum parking duration, vary from place to place.

You can buy a parking ticket from the parking meter or use pay-by-phone parking. If you are visiting someone who lives in a paid parking zone or a permit zone, your host can also register and deregister you online.

Would you like to park a large vehicle, such as a lorry, in Apeldoorn? You can, but there are special rules that apply.

Apeldoorn and Beekbergen

The General Local Regulation (Article 5.1.7) stipulates that, within the built-up areas of Apeldoorn and Beekbergen, it is not permitted to park large vehicles which:

• be 6 metres or more in length
• or which are 2.4 metres high or more

Only from Monday to Friday are large vehicles permitted to park between 8.00 am and 7.00 pm.

Parking in 72-hour zones

To provide drivers of large vehicles with a place to park on public roads outside working days, 72-hour zones have been designated. In these zones, large vehicles may be parked continuously for a period of 72 hours. Parking is also permitted there at weekends. The locations are indicated by a white sign bearing a lorry symbol alongside the text ‘P max 72 hours’.

In the other villages, this ban on parking large vehicles does not apply.

You can park your caravan, motorhome or trailer temporarily in Apeldoorn. Depending on the car park, you may or may not have visitor policy required.

Outside the designated permit areas, you may park your caravan, motorhome or trailer on the public highway for up to 72 consecutive hours.

In a designated area, you may park a caravan, motorhome or trailer for up to 72 consecutive hours under the visitor scheme. This does not apply to suspended registration numbers.

If you have a physical disability, you may be eligible for a disabled parking permit. This permit allows you to park in designated spaces, for example, near shops.

Applying for a disabled parking permit

You may be able to obtain a reserved parking space close to your home. You can apply for a parking space if you hold a European disabled parking card for drivers and own a car or microcar.

With your European or local authority disabled parking permit, you can park for free in Apeldoorn in the designated areas. Certain conditions apply. For example, you must use your disabled parking permit correctly.

• Place the card in a clearly visible position behind your car’s windscreen.
• The following details must be clearly visible to parking enforcement officers: the expiry date, the type of permit, the permit number and the local authority that issued the permit. If these details are not clearly visible, you may be fined.
• The parking permit is in your name, not linked to a specific car’s registration number. You can therefore use the permit in any car.
• You may only use the card yourself. No one else is allowed to use your card!
• You may park free of charge in all car parks that can be accessed without a barrier.
• You may park free of charge in the Marktplein car park. Take a parking ticket at the barrier. When you return to the car park, do not make a payment at the pay machine. Please present your parking ticket at the security desk. The counter is located at the car park exit. Here, you hand in your parking ticket and receive a free exit ticket. If no staff member is present, please call the telephone number displayed on the notice. Please note: if you do pay the parking charges at the payment machine, these charges will not be refunded.
• If there is a maximum parking time, please use a parking disc to indicate your arrival time.

You are permitted to drive and park in the pedestrian zones of Apeldoorn city centre and the Eglantier shopping centre. This is permitted from Monday to Friday until 11.00. You must drive slowly and carefully in the direction indicated on the signs.

You may park here if you have a disabled parking permit
