Good rapport
Most residents are happy with the sense of community in the neighbourhood. People look out for one another. As there are lots of young families living here, it’s easy to get to know people. The courtyards and lawns are lovely places to meet up.
Traffic and facilities
From Kayersmolen-Noord, you can reach the city centre in no time. Public transport is excellent and road safety in the neighbourhood is good. People are, however, concerned about the busy roads around the neighbourhood. Parking can also be tricky at times.
Safety
Most residents feel safe in the neighbourhood. If something is going on, people usually talk to one another about it. During the neighbourhood survey, some residents expressed concerns about the possible new fire brigade route through the neighbourhood. And a few residents mentioned nuisance caused by drug dealers.
Housing and sustainability
Most homes are well insulated. Some residents would like information on how to make their homes more sustainable. In some rented properties, it does get very hot in the summer. That is a cause for concern. Furthermore, the neighbourhood is set to grow significantly in the coming years. There are plans for around 650 additional homes.
Outdoor space
Most people think the outdoor area is well maintained. In some places, a few residents would still like to see a play structure or a bench so they can keep an eye on their children.
Working together
We’ll work through the key points together. The agenda sets out the actions to be taken.
Agenda
The following areas will receive extra attention in the coming years. First and foremost, we will be investing time in maintaining social cohesion. We will also be looking at what is needed in terms of traffic, transport and local facilities. Together, we will ensure a safe neighbourhood. We will be working on housing and sustainability. And we will be making our public spaces even more attractive.
