Here’s what you’ll be doing
As part of the integration cluster, you will be the designated point of contact for status holders settling in the municipality of Apeldoorn. Status holders are refugees with a (temporary) residence permit.
As an integration coordinator, you will support integration participants in accordance with the new 2021 Integration Act and take the lead on all aspects of the integration programme. Co-ordination involves working with the integration participant and other organisations to set out the path to be followed. You maintain an overview and monitor the progress of the integration process for the status holders on your caseload.
In addition to the integration programme, you are also responsible for implementing the Participation Act when a resident is receiving benefits. You assess their opportunities for participation and determine what steps can be taken towards paid employment or participation. We believe it is important to support residents in integrating and participating in society.
To give you an idea of what it’s like to work as an integration coordinator, we’ll take you through ‘a day in the life of’;
As an integration coordinator, you organise your own working week and manage your diary and tasks. You have several appointments scheduled for today. You start with an introductory meeting with a participant on the integration programme. You identify the participant’s potential, talents and any obstacles they may face. You report on this in the Suite.
Next, you’ll have a telephone conversation with a work-based training organisation where a newcomer from your caseload is doing voluntary work. You’ll ask how things are going and whether there are any obstacles. In the afternoon, you’ll have lunch with your colleagues at the town hall.
After lunch, you have an appointment outside the office. You’ll be taking one of the integration programme participants from your caseload to the Lucrato work-based learning centre. The integration participant is ready to make the transition to paid work, and through a smooth handover, you introduce them to Lucrato’s employment adviser, who will look for a suitable job for them.
You finish off the last hour of your working day at home. You go through the final reports and prepare for meetings over the next few days. Tomorrow’s another day!
As an integration programme coordinator, you are responsible for:
