We are working to create a green, liveable and climate-resilient city. That is why we are set to make the Paslaan significantly greener in the coming period. On this project page, you can find out exactly what this entails, what the current status is and what the plans are.
In the new layout, there will be much more space for greenery along the street. On-street parking along the Paslaan will be phased out. The current parking bays will be removed and transformed into green spaces (green areas). Not only will this look more attractive, but it will also help with rainwater drainage and keep the area cooler in summer.
Not all parking spaces will be removed; we are taking accessibility and access for business owners into account. The following spaces will remain (some in slightly different locations):

We are currently in the preparatory phase, known as the tendering process. We are looking for the right contractors to carry out the civil engineering work (such as breaking up the paving stones and preparing the ground) and to draw up an attractive, suitable planting scheme.
We are aiming to make the street greener as soon as possible. The current schedule is as follows:
Current phase: Tendering for civil engineering works and the planting scheme.
Target completion date: Before the end of the planting season (March 2027). By that time, the civil engineering works will have been completed and all the new plants will have been planted.
