Response Memorandum: 1st Wormenseweg 2026

Response document in response to comments on the preliminary draft made at the residents’ evening on 5 October 2026.

Questions and answers

Is there another solution for the kerb at number 120?

No, we will retain the plateau as a speed-reducing measure. Prior to the start of the works, preliminary surveys will be carried out on all properties.

Narrow the pavements near house number 120 so that parking spaces can be created.

If we make the pavements here narrower, traffic will drive faster. This is not desirable.

Sacrifice the pavement as in the previous design.

No, the homes must be as accessible as possible.

Add a platform at Thorbeckestraat.

No, adding a landing would mean the two landings would be too close together; a step would be added at house number 200.

The tree planting plan takes into account underground pipes between Koolmeesweg and Oude Beekbergerweg

Yes, this has already been taken into account and incorporated into the design.

Do not plant a lime tree in front of the property at number 163.

We will take this into account in the green space plan, which will be included in the final design.

Are you going to give the pavement an extra clean because of the fallen leaves?

This falls under the Management and Maintenance department and will be taken into account.

Do not create a green area near house number 30 and add a speed bump.

We are discontinuing the ‘Groenvak’ scheme and introducing a threshold.

Install a platform at the Parralelweg.

No, but we are introducing a speed bump as a speed-reducing measure.

A green strip in front of the shop is not advisable due to the carpet. Loading and unloading also takes place at the front.

We are closing the green zone so that the shop can continue to be restocked.

In the new design, there will be a green space in front of number 125. Could a path be laid through the green space?

Yes, we’re going to lay a path.

A green area has been marked out opposite number 113, which means there is no space for shop deliveries or customer parking.

We are removing the green area, which will create space for deliveries and for customers to park.

Is it possible to maintain the same width for the driveway?

We adhere to the local authority standards, which you can find at Overheid.nl.

Is it possible to widen the driveway?

No, we follow the local authority standards in this regard; you can find these in the link above.

Should the driveway be retained for cycling purposes, even though there isn’t room for a car on it?

No, there’s no space for on-site parking, so we won’t be building a driveway.

Is it possible to introduce a no-parking zone for properties 134/136?

No, this isn’t possible because there must be sufficient parking facilities.

The entrance is not shown on the plan.

We will be checking all the access roads; if an access road has been granted planning permission, we will incorporate this into the final design.

Have the locations of the lampposts been decided yet?

No, the locations for the lampposts still need to be finalised, and we will incorporate them into the final design.

Lower lampposts; see the example in the parks (4–5 metres).

We adhere to the local authority standards here.

The width of the road, combined with parking on both sides, causes problems – the road is too narrow for heavy goods vehicles.

The road will be slightly narrower than it is at present. Should this cause problems for heavy goods vehicles, a no-parking restriction may be introduced on the east side of the street.

Is it possible to ban lorries from 1e Wormenseweg?

No, there are several companies based there.

Return the posts to their current positions.

We’ll put the posts back or replace them with greenery.

Will you also be including the first and second sections of Johannastraat, given the poor road surface and pavements?

Yes, we’ll include this in the project.

The junction with Dekamarkt remains unsafe.

Cannot be adjusted due to space constraints.

Don’t narrow the road quite so much.

The northern section will be almost the same width; the southern section will be the same as the northern section.

What is the accessibility like whilst the work is being carried out?

We will try to ensure that everyone remains accessible for as long as possible. Further details will be finalised in consultation with the contractor. Before work begins, the contractor will send out information regarding access to homes and, for example, car parking and the placement of skips.

Relocate container storage areas.

The container storage areas will probably be on the east side of the road; we are still discussing this with Circulus.
