The ‘Child to a Healthier Weight’ multi-agency approach’

More and more children are becoming overweight at a younger age. As well as the health risks, this is often detrimental to a child’s social and mental well-being. That is why Apeldoorn City Council, in collaboration with organisations in Apeldoorn, is committed to tackling overweight and obesity. We are doing this through a multi-agency approach Children Towards a Healthier Weight (KnGG).

Roadmap for professionals

Many children who are overweight or obese experience symptoms that prevent them from participating fully at school, at home or in sport and physical activity. There are various causes for these symptoms and, consequently, different approaches to the support on offer. This results in a wide range of individual care needs and solutions. To make referrals by professionals easier and more transparent, there is a roadmap developed.
