Over the past few years, we have received a number of requests and ideas from local residents regarding the green space, such as additional play areas, relocating the dog walking area and adding meeting places.
This green space has a distinctive historical character. Between 1876 and 1954, a railway line ran here between Het Loo Palace and the station in the city centre. This railway line was known as the Loolijn or Koningslijn. Many people would like to see more attention paid to this history.
On 9 December 2025, the initial ideas were shared during a drop-in session. There was an opportunity for public consultation during this session. As a result, we received a total of 187 responses. The responses have been compiled and cover the following topics:
- Walking dogs
- Play and meet people
- Layout of green spaces and paths
- Cultural history
- Traffic
