You can have the following documents registered in the BRP:
- Birth certificate
- Marriage certificate or civil partnership certificate
- Divorce decree
- Death certificate
Book an appointment online to have the deed(s) registered by clicking the orange button above.
Please bring the following to your appointment:
- A valid passport or ID card in your name
- A valid passport or ID card belonging to your partner. A copy is also acceptable.
- The document you wish to have registered. It must be in Dutch, English, German or French. You can have your document translated by a sworn translator.
- Your document must have the correct legalisation or apostille. Via the website The Netherlands Worldwide you can see what you need to do.
- Would you like to register a marriage certificate? Are you or your partner not a national of a country within the European Union? If so, you will need to bring a declaration of registration. Please use the following form: Marriage registration form (PDF, 102 kB) (NL) or Declaration (PDF, 86 KB).
There is no charge for registering a deed in the BRP.
The documents you submit will be assessed by the local authority and, if necessary, forwarded to the IND for further verification. You will be notified in writing within four weeks as to whether you can collect your documents. You can then book an appointment online to do so.
Please bring your receipt for the documents you have submitted and a valid form of identification to this appointment. Documents must be collected in person.
