WMO adviser (Cluster: Housing, Mobility and Transport)

Do you have knowledge of home adaptations, assistive devices and transport services? Are you analytical, down-to-earth and a strong team player? If so, you can help our residents participate in society as independently as possible – and you’ll be the perfect addition to our team!

Here’s what you’ll be doing
As a Wmo consultant within the Housing, Wheelchairs & Transport cluster, you are a specialist in the field of home adaptations, wheelchair and mobility aids, and transport services. You will handle complex requests for assistance, taking into account not only the resident’s personal circumstances but also the technical, practical and financial feasibility of solutions.

You assess the capabilities and limitations of residents and their living environment, and align your work with the neighbourhood team’s integrated plan. You encourage residents to make the most of their own strengths and networks. You are familiar with Apeldoorn’s social services directory and make effective use of (tailored) support services when necessary. In doing so, you regularly collaborate with service providers, medical advisers and other partners in the care chain.

In practical terms, this means that

• You’ll have informal chats (over the kitchen table) and investigate residents’ circumstances in their homes and local communities. 
• You carefully assess the resident’s needs and first consider what they can do for themselves, possibly with the help of their own network. 
• You connect residents, where necessary, with local and wider services and partner organisations. 
• You will assess whether these solutions are adequate and, if necessary, determine whether there is a need for bespoke support under the Wmo. 
• You will advise on and recommend home adaptations (such as stairlifts and bathroom modifications), taking into account their structural and practical feasibility. 
• You will assess and advise on assistive devices (such as wheelchairs) and transport aids (such as mobility scooters and tricycles). 
• In doing so, you will carry out a comprehensive assessment, taking into account technical, ergonomic and financial aspects. 
• Processes your applications for disabled parking permits.
• As a specialist, you are a recognisable point of contact for internal and external partners.

Here’s what we offer you

• A position for 28 hours a week; 32 hours a week is negotiable;
• We are offering you a one-year contract with the prospect of a permanent position;
• A salary of €3,246 (entry-level scale 8) to €5,096 gross per month (scale 9) based on a 36-hour week;
• An Individual Choice Budget (IKB) of 17,45% on top of your salary. You can use this, for example, for:;
  • Extra income by having it paid out.
  • Buying extra holiday hours.
• A good work-life balance, with the option to save up leave and flexible working hours;
• 201.6 holiday hours based on a 36-hour week;
• An attractive pension scheme;
• It’s a lovely setting, as our townhouse has been beautifully modernised and fitted out to support flexible working;
• Can you work (partly) from home in your role? If so, you will receive a home-working allowance;
• Do you travel to work by public transport? If so, you’ll be fully reimbursed. Do you travel by car, bike or on foot? If so, you’ll receive an allowance for this.

You demonstrate personal leadership and are not afraid to tackle challenges – for yourself, your team and local residents. In doing so, you actively contribute to improving our services. You are confident, can handle resistance and value a strong team spirit.

In addition, you have:

• You have completed a higher professional education (HBO) degree, for example in Social Work, Occupational Therapy or Physiotherapy, and have relevant work experience in a similar role.
• Knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations (Wmo, Wlz, Participation Act).
• Knowledge of medicine, occupational therapy or architecture, or a willingness to learn these quickly.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to handle even difficult conversations effectively.
• Proficiency in using various computer systems (Word, Excel, Teams) and the ability to learn new applications quickly.
• Responsibility for ensuring data is processed correctly in our specialist application (Zorgned). Experience with Zorgned is an advantage.
• A high level of integrity.
• An understanding of your role within the supply chain and the wider process.
• An awareness of the political and legal context of the work.
• Enthusiasm, commitment and a meticulous, structured approach to work.
